Actor Keith Robinson – who you probably remember from Golden Globe winning movie Dream Girls – has a passion for music and is trying his chops at a professional music career. The actor who was actually signed to Motown Records when he was in college, recently released a new single called My Hustle, produced by RZA (who has worked numerous artists including Jay-Z and Kanye on their Watch the Throne album).

Very few actors are able to seamlessly transition between the acting and singing arenas. Check out the video below and leave comments whether you think Keith has what it takes to live in both worlds.

In their first joint interview since Kim announced her divorce from Kris Humphries, the Kardashian sisters open up to Glamour about love, life and what they hope 2012 will bring.

Glamour Interview Excerpt:

Kim: …I think I’ll always be a hopeless romantic.

GLAMOUR: What do you mean by that?

Kim: It means that I believe in love and the dream of having a perfect relationship, but my idea of it has changed. I think I need to not live in a fairy tale like that. I think I maybe need to just snap out of it and be a little more realistic.

Khloé: I love Kim’s belief in love and the fact that she feels so strongly about it. She has that dream every girl has.

Kim: Well, I don’t think I have it right now.

Khloé: Which is fine, but I’m your sister and I know why you don’t have it right now. But I know you will get it again.

Kim: I hope I do. But by then I hope maybe I’m a little bit more realistic.

GLAMOUR: Realistic about what?

Kim: The fact that what I want isn’t possible.

Khloé: What, a guy on a white horse coming to get you? That doesn’t happen!

Kim: I don’t know. I always wanted what Mom and Dad had. And at first I was like, I want six kids. Then I went down to four, then I was down to three.and now I’m like, maybe I won’t have any. Maybe I’ll just be a good aunt.

Khloé: But Mom and Dad got a divorce, and she met Bruce. And you were a child; you don’t know what Mom and Dad had. As an outsider looking in, it probably looked like paradise.

Kim: At this moment in my life, I feel like maybe I’m not supposed to have kids and all that.

Khloé: Oh my God. Don’t be dramatic all of a sudden!

Kim: That’s how I feel. Maybe my fairy tale has a different ending than I dreamed it would. But that’s OK.

Photographed by Ben Watts in New York City, Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian appear on Glamour’s January cover wearing cardigans by L’Wren Scott and Malia Mills bottoms; Kourtney wears a ring and bracelets by Cartier.

From T.I. to Gucci Mane Atlanta is known to crank out new rap talent. Newest to the scene is Future. Most are familiar with his 2011 homage to Al Pacchino’s Scarface’s character, “Tony Montana” and his vocals on the single “Racks” by YC.

Within 2011 alone Future has emerged himself from a local Atlanta rapper to a progressive rap artist making head way across the nation. “I credited my cousin, Rico Wade, for giving me the opportunity to let me shadow him and just hard work to my growing success”, says rapper, Future at the Direct Drive Record Pool event in Washington, D.C.

Just like his name his beats are futuristic on his singles, especially “Magic” featuring T.I. and Yo Gotti. Future blends his southern swag with catchy tunes “to make magic” that will have you bobbin’ your head.

On site Future has a very calm vibe about him. Even in the midst of the chaotic packed club, Future’s body language and speech is relaxed and poised until I mention Clark Atlanta University and what advice he would give students getting into the music industry, his entire demeanor changes. At first he seems surprised I even mentioned the university and then proceeds to shout them out and thanking the Atlanta University Center for supporting his music. He says, “For anyone trying to get into this industry just know it take a lot of hard work, a lot of grinding, a lot of time working in the dungeon to get to be successful. You just got to work hard man. And don’t let anyone steal your drive.”

Future lives by the motto of working hard and with what has seemed to become overnight success with I am definitely certain his motto is on point.

Let’s just cut to the chase: music needs Lauriana Mae. Name doesn’t ring a bell? Well, it’s time for you to get acquainted. To put it simply, this girl can blow. But don’t take my word for it. Check out the video below of her performance at SOB’s earlier this week during SolVillage presented by Singersroom.

Newly signed to Atlantic Records, many liken the New Jersey native to the late Amy Winehouse and have compared her sound to Ella Fitzgerald, Ruth Brown, and Billie Holiday. She is creating her own lane in the industry, seamlessly blending classic jazz, R&B, and other styles with contemporary music. When she performs, you’ve got no choice but to move your body and sing along.

Lauriana Mae was a former contestant on P. Diddy’s “Starmaker” and while she didn’t make the cut, she definitely kept working hard at her craft with the support of her band, The Pains. Lauriana has definitely got the music scene a buzz and this writer, to say the least, is looking forward to more from this artist, including an album which is set to drop in the near future.

It has been reported that everyone’s favorite boss, who doesn’t really cut us checks, has suffered from a seizure today while waiting for his flight to leave Ft. Lauderdale airport. Sources say that CPR was administered immediately and Ricky Rozay, as he is so affectionately called, is “100 percent okay.”.

Due to him selling dope off his iPhone and having “a choppah in the car”, I’m sure Ross is happy that “God Forgives” even though he doesn’t.

While there is no reason being attributed to his collapse as of yet, can weight be the root of the issue here?

During his first week of freedom, TI partied it up with celebrity friends, including Nelly and B.o.B, hosted a brunch for his AKOO Clothing label and performed with Young Jeezy at the BET Hip Hop Awards set to air this week.

We all heard about TI’s confrontation with Diddy where he checked the hip hop mogul for criticizing another man for drinking Grey Goose instead of Ciroc. (Check the video footage here). Diddy recently apologized saying, “Forgive me for my ignorance. Pray for me pls. I know better and I am better.”

This weekend, TI showed us his paternal side, coaching his 7-year-old son’s football team in Atlanta.

All this buzz should make for a very interesting reality show that TI has been taping, seemingly nonstop, since his release. Let’s hope that with all the flashing lights around him, Tip can manage to stay out of trouble this time, for good.

He blew the audience away earlier this year during BMI’s “Snowball” at Sundance and got a standing ovation for an otherwise reserved crowd. He is this week’s Artist to Watch. (Check out his music here: Allen Stone)

Q: You got your musical start singing at your father’s church, do you recall the exact moment when you decided this was something you wanted to pursue professionally?

A: I’ve always really loved performing, I was always singing at church. I started leading worship at church when I was 14. I’ve always really loved being in front of people and expressing myself. But I think probably what put a spark in my mind at an early age was a close family friend that had a run in the music industry. She started when she was like fourteen and then she got signed to a Christian label and had quite significant success in the Christian industry and then crossed over to secular and had a couple of pretty big albums and did pretty well. I remember driving in the car with my dad and we didn’t really know that she sang. Our families kind of lost contact over the years, and one of her songs came on the radio and I was blown away, it was like wow, she’s traveling the world and singing and connecting with people just through lyrics and song. I think that was the kick-start, maybe I could write enough songs for these people to pay attention and maybe I could actually do it for more than a hobby.

Q: You live in Seattle now. What was it like growing up in Washington state?

A: I grew up in Chewelah, Washington. It’s about forty miles outside of Spokane. It’s really out in the middle of nowhere. It’s like a ski-bum town. I’m pretty sure the main reason why it even exists is because it’s right at the bottom of a ski hill. It’s pretty well attended throughout the winter. It’s really small, there’s about 1500 people who live there now. I was born and raised in Chewelah and then graduated and moved to Seattle when I was 19. I’ve just been there, trying to do it independently for the last four years now. It’s been a grind.

Q: The soul greats are a major influence for you, is that the type of music you primarily grew up listening to?

A: No, not too much. My dad, being a pastor, I was pretty sheltered from any music that wasn’t blatantly Christian, so not so much rock and roll. I grew up listening to like Steven Curtis Chapman, all these Christian bands, and then I think when I was about 14 I really got into Dave Matthews and then I discovered Stevie Wonder. I always grew up singing Gospel music and singing soul tunes in church, but it wasn’t until I heard Stevie, Marvin Gaye, and Solomon Burke, and all these old soul records that I found where the passion was.

Q: What was the first live show you did?

A: I was living in Spokane actually, I just moved from Chewelah for the first half of the year after I graduated. I was playing every Saturday night at this burrito restaurant and that was where it all started. I play piano too, so I’d bring in my keyboard and just set up a mic and play through the PA. I did that every Saturday for a couple of months. I was basically background music and I got accustomed to playing sets where people aren’t paying attention. I’ve definitely played a lot of those in the last four years of my life. I’ve played a lot of colleges, toured around trying to cultivate a new market. You have to start at the ground level when you’re an independent artist. I go into towns that I’ve never played before and tough it out and get lost in the music and not pay attention to the fact that nobody is listening.

Q: Do you have any musical guilty pleasures?

A: Probably the only guilty pleasure I have is I like Boy George a lot. I’m the kind of person where I’m not ashamed of any portion of my life. I really enjoy Boy George, ‘N Sync, Backstreet Boys, that kind of stuff. I enjoy that music. I don’t feel guilty about it in any way.
