Corporate America: We Fit Right In

With the economy changing constantly, more companies have decided to alter their organizational structure to reflect the progress of the current. One of the notable areas is within diversity. 

The United States is one of the most diverse countries and a handful of companies have reflected upon this notion. Diversity Inc. reports that, “The Top 50 hire 44 percent Blacks, Latinos, Asians and Native Americans, up from 33 percent five years ago. By comparison, the U.S. work force is 29 percent Black, Latino, Asian and Native American,” As a result, there has been a huge increase in the amount of college-educated minorities obtaining work within these companies.  Verizon Wireless continues to be a notable employer of diversity by developing the Retail Leadership Development Program. In fact, it is consistently ranked on the list of top employers that exemplify diversity in the workforce.

Gaining employment within these companies is very competitive. However, with the increasing amount of dedicated multicultural consumers generating revenue, more job opportunities are indeed being created under the diversity realm. Multicultural advertising agencies have also reaped the benefits of this change, ultimately acquiring accounts on behalf of a few of the companies listed above. Succeeding, these companies are excelling by offering numerous professional development opportunities, trainings, and college recruitment programs.
