David Correy: The Urban Rock Star

David Correy icon

With a will to succeed, it is artists like David Correy that challenge their creative limitations to emerge with the mindset of being different.

David Correy is what I like to call a “melting pot artist.” Instead of focusing on one genre or style of music, he blends his songwriting and producing with Soul, Punk, Rock, Pop, Rap and Electronica tunes into one pot to create his ingenious sound.

Unlike many artists and even regular people who are reluctant about giving their telephone numbers out, David gives his number out at any opportunity, 301-980-0880. With his accessibility and always being on the move to a different city or state, it is that tactic that adheres to his success.

Inspired by his life and the struggles he’s had to face, David infuses those experiences into his craft in order to create true and heartfelt music. Born in Brazil, he was adopted at a young age and moved to Annapolis, Maryland. As far back as he can remember, he always had a knack for performing. He participated and starred in numerous school musicals and plays that fostered his talent and later earned him a full scholarship to the Boston’s Berklee College of Music.

After being diagnosed with nasal polypsis, Correy was forced to drop out of college and worst of all he was left without a singing or voice for a year. But he didn’t give up; instead he worked towards a full recovery. But tragedy struck again when David was in a near fatal car accident, that left him with a broken hip.

When asked what is your favorite word, Correy replied, “Pain…because without it, our mind would not know triumph.” Despite all David Correy’s trials and tribulations, his perseverance has brought him out on top.

Having worked alongside with talented artists like Ne-Yo and Omarion and with a vision out of this world, David Correy is surely On the Rise.
