Can you sell faith? The owners of Forever 21, seem to think so. Do Won and Jin Sook Chang, Forever 21′s owners, are being accused of pushing a Christian agenda to its consumers with the unveiling of its recent collection of t-shirts. “Thank God” and “Jesus loves you” are among the slogans written on the selection of over-sized tees, cropped and sleeveless tees retailing for $14.

The Changs, originally from Korea, are born-again Christians. Whether consumers like it or not, they have been toting the Changs’ faith around with them for years. In the folds at the bottom of each yellow shopping bag, “John 3:16,” can be found in black letters.

According to Business Week, there are Bibles at the company’s headquarters. And when Mr. Chang accepted an award from the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp. in November he gave a rare public speech, saying: “I live by the Bible verse, ‘He who is full hates honey, but to the hungry even what is bitter tastes sweet.’ ” Then he added: “That is why I work so hard—because I’m still hungry.”
