The Fashion Fights Cancer fundraiser event took place at the Ana Tzarev gallery in New York City. This event brought together some of the most influential figures in fashion to support an important cause. The event was free, but donations were taken at the door and silent auctions were being held throughout the evening. The donations from the fundraiser will build a Therapeutic Center for cancer patients and the center will hold special design seminars for the patients.
This event also honored the president of Fashion Fights Cancer, fashion designer Thuy Diep. Throughout the gallery, there were models and mannequins pieces from, Thuy’s Spring and Summer 2011 collection.
Her collection was filled with color, floral prints, embellishments and dramatic drapings. Thuy used a custom flower print from her Spring/Summer collection as the symbol of the fundraiser. She said she used the floral print, “As an artistic symbolic circular and supportive representation of the cause.”
There are millions of people that are diagnosed with cancer each year, so this event was a great way to donate money for the cause while seeing wonderful fashion at the same time.
