Founded in 1975, they are dedicated to serving their community regardless of ethnic origin, background or nationality. H.A.U.P was initially founded to promote the welfare of immigrants and refugees, but since their founding they have expanded their scope to meet the needs of the community.

They have created an environment that is supportive through training, networking opportunities, education and culture which allows participants to adapt to their new environment and lead productive lives.

With hopes of expanding their facility, H.A.U.P has raised about 3.5 million in capital funding which will allow them to continue to meet the needs and dreams of thousands.

On April 7, 2010 H.A.U.P will be awarded the NY Mets Spirit award in recognition of their service and achievement in the Haitian community.

Since the devastating earthquake that took place in Haiti nearly a month ago H.A.U.P is continuously serving as a pillar of strength for the community. Standing at the forefront of this crisis in conjunction with other organizations, they are endlessly finding ways to aid not only those affected by the earthquake in Haiti but family members who are living in the Tri-State area.

On February 27, 2010 H.A.U.P will be hosting a Haiti Relief Service fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This fair will help address the concerns of the community, provide them with information regarding adoption and entitlements, offer counsel and the Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

If you are interested in ways to help Haiti, or know of any one who is in need of immigration services please contact this organization. I highly recommend their services.
