Trey Songz is ready to capture hearts again! His new single, “Can’t Be Friends,” beats on the soul of everyone that has crossed the line from friends to lovers.

If you consider yourself to be a Trey Songz fan, I know you’re just as excited as I am! At first I didn’t know who it was on the radio, but once that all too familiar and sexy bravado hit the beat, there was no mistaking that Trigga Trey was on the scene.

“Can’t Be Friends” can be described as the regretful cries of someone that has lost a good friend due to decisions that seemed so smart in the beginning, but soon came around to bite you in the ass.

Let’s just say, I’ve been bit one time too many.

Trey sits there “half-way crazy” and who can blame him? I’ve lost a homie, lover, and friend before. It made me want to punch a wall, scream, and forget about it all at the same time.

The lyrics stay in tune with the realness that Trey Songz has to offer on not only his songs, but anything with his voice on it. Unlike Trey, I would say I was hardly in love with mine, but the feelings were strong enough to “wish I never loved it.”

It’s not too often that I have a guy friend that isn’t attracted to me or we’re both attracted to each other. Show me a young woman that hasn’t had that experience and I’ll show you a unicorn.

However, I’ve crossed the line twice, which is more than enough! Sometimes I wonder will I ever learn my lesson. The first time ended in both of us walking away only to try to be friends , but I realized nothing had changed. Walking away from that was hard, but in the end it was all worth it.

Wouldn’t’ you think it would have smacked me in the face at that point? Nope.

I fought temptation harder than Beyonce when it came to my attraction to a longtime friend. The possibilities of our attraction intrigued me more than the current status of our friendship. There was so much I wanted us to explore before the situation got sticky—no pun intended. So why did I end up the same predicament as before?

I’m feeling everything this song embodies. It’s sexy (thanks to Trey), it’s smooth and, most importantly, it’s relative to both men and women. If this is just a taste of what’s to come on Trey Songz’ upcoming release “Passion, Pain and Pleasure,” then I’m sure we will have much more to talk about.
