The prolific quarterback has resurrected his career after stepping in for injured QB Kevin Kolb and leading the Philadelphia Eagles to an early 2-1 record. He has shown his growth in his quarterbacking skills ranking second in the league in quarterback rating behind only Peyton Manning and has shown that his dynamic running ability is still intact.
After being arrested in 2006 for alleged dog fighting, many questioned if Michael Vick would ever be able to return to football, nonetheless, he returned to his once elite status. Fans that loved him unconditionally back in his Atlanta Falcon days showed no sympathy, his clean image was and forever will be tarnished. The Michael Vick that everyone knew and loved was no more. It seemed as if it was the end of an amazing career that was cut far too short.
Though the trials and tribulations were harsh, this was only the beginning to Vick’s story. Now, Vick is writing his own redemption song. With hard work and dedication, Vick returned to football shape in hopes of being picked up and surely enough, the Philadelphia Eagles would be giving him a phone call offering him a second chance.
He has owned up to his mistakes in the past and he has admitted his wrongdoings showing his maturity over the past few years. He now finds himself in the position where he once thrived in, being the quarterback and leader of his team, only this time he is doing it the right way.
This is a chance at redemption for Michael Vick, he is back better than ever finally becoming that complete quarterback that we all thought he was when he was made the #1 overall pick back in ’01.
More than a quarterback, he’s a freakish athlete than can kill you both with his arms and his legs, reminding us of the reason we fell in love with his game in the first place. He may never regain that same love he received from his fans from his Atlanta days, but if he continues to win and leads his team back to title contention, what a turnaround story that would be and fans in Philadelphia may begin singing a different song for Mike Vick.
