Need a Lunch Break?

lunch break

Recently, I’ve grown tired of hearing the same ole beats and songs on the radio. Most of the artist out right now are really talented, but I desperately needed a Lunch Break.

I was introduced to a phenomenal rap and vocal trio consisting of Mike Cease, Jayell and JDG. Hailing from California, Maryland and New Jersey they came together to form The Lunch Break and provide the world with an eclectic palette of music to satisfy listeners who are desperately in search of a break from the norm.

The story of the how the group met proves the six degrees of separation. Jayell and JDG met through a mutual female friend, who they now refer to as Destiny because she brought the future group mates together during an odd group date.

After hitting it off musically, Jayell and JDG began a group to hone their talents. It wasn’t long after, a group of friends introduced the two to Mike Cease, a budding producer, and they later formed The Lunch Break.

The name The Lunch Break stems from breaking away from the normal music scene and the sounds we are so accustomed to hearing. Each member has a different role which ensures you’ll never hear the same thing twice. The Lunch Break strives to create a sense of uncommon music and an out of the ordinary style. “We are trying to separate ourselves from the crowd and become distinguished in our own right,” says member Mike Cease.

Since their formation in 2007, The Lunch Break has already gained international celebrity without physically leaving the United States. The use of different media outlets such as Facebook and Myspace has taken The Lunch Break into the homes of people across the globe.

Most recently the career of The Lunch Break has taken the fast track. They are currently working alongside MTV’s TJ Challenge and up and coming DJ-X to make the world aware of this new and unique group. In addition, The Lunch Break is working alongside NASA and the Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes Foundation as performers for their upcoming foundation event.

With music this special and unlike anything you’ve ever heard, it is hard to put the uniqueness into words. However, on this Lunch Break you will be fed various types of music, laced with meaningful lyrics that will leave your musical appetite stuffed.
