Ne-yo gave us a teaser last year with his album, “Year of the Gentleman.” However this distinguished gentleman, Enitan O. Bereola II, has put the thought into action!
His latest book, Bereolaesque is a must-read for men and the women who love them. The subtitle explains the books’ many concepts perfectly: “The Contemporary Gentleman & Etiquette Book for the Urban Sophisticate.” It is the perfect example of old-fashioned concepts mixed with new-school thoughts.
Bereola defines “Bereolaesque” as an adjective meaning, “Highly appealing and pleasing to the human senses and/or mind; captivating; providing pleasure or delight, especially in appearance or manner; charming, alluring, attractive.” The definition itself is “sexy.” He goes on to further define the definition throughout the chapters of his book.
A few chapters that stood out to me were Chapter II - The Cure to the Common Man, Chapter VI - The Cool: The Style Guide & Wine Tasting Etiquette and Chapter VIII - The Question: Elegance Under Pressure, and Touch: Women 101.
Truthfully, I was raised around a lot of women who are very classy, educated and driven. So to hear of a man, who has published a book about what the ‘distinguished gentleman’ looks like, was definitely worth spending a few bucks on.
Bereola plans to continue this series of books by publishing his next book catering specifically to the contemporary female and proper etiquette. I know what you’re thinking, “How does a man know about a females’ life?” Let’s just say, he conducted thorough research and has had his share of experiences involving women. As a huge fan, I will be one of the first to purchase this book when it is released.
Aside from writing, Mr. Bereola has appeared on numerous panels, radio stations, and blogs. Be sure to check out his website, www.contemporarygentlemen.com for more information regarding his travel and appearance schedule. You can also follow him at twitter.com/bereolaesque.
Men, please pick up this book. It’ll change your life. Ladies, this is an awesome Valentine’s Day gift for the man (or men) in your life. Feel free to plan a discussion night surrounding the components of this book. It is sure to fuel a controversial, yet progressive conversation.
Good luck, and remember, the Gentleman is back!
