The NBA Offseason: The Heat is on for Lebron James

The NBA Free Agency period is well underway and the main attraction has been none other than Lebron James.

With the biggest list of marquee names to hit the market this summer in Free Agency history, the list includes NBA players like Chris Bosh, AmareStoudemire, Carlos Boozer, and Dwayne Wade just to name a few, however  the headlines have been all about Lebron.  So, as everyone asks the question, “Where will Lebron play next year?” Here’s a quick recap on where we stand in what has been the craziest NBA offseason ever….

The Big three in Miami

Power Forward Chris Bosh, who spent seven NBA seasons with the Toronto Raptors, will team up with Dwayne Wade and sign with the Miami Heat. Another big name that will join the party in Miami is Lebron James. Sources have speculated for the last couple of days that Lebron will sign and play with the Heat next season, making them the early favorites to win the east next year according NBA analysts. Today, the two- time league M.V.P made his official announcement that he will indeed sign and play with the Miami Heat next season, making Miami the big winners of this years’ NBA offseason.

New York lands Amare

All-Star Power Forward Amare Stoudemire signed a five-year; $99.7 million contract to play with the New York Knicks and former coach Mike D’Antoni.  The 27-year-old Stoudemire has made five all-star appearances and carries a 20 point and 9 rebounds a game average over his eight-year career. With what was thought to be a strategic move to lure Lebron James to New York, the signing of Amare will be the highlight of their offseason as they hope they have found the face of the franchise in Stoudemire.

Boozer, a Bull

Another team in the running to land Lebron James is the Chicago Bulls. In their efforts to attract Lebron to Chicago, the Bulls added two time All-Star Power Forward Carlos Boozer to a five-year $80 million contract. A team with young, rising stars in Derek Rose and Joakim Noah the addition of the experienced and tough minded Boozer can prove to be the missing piece that will take the Chicago Bulls over the hump.

Lakers need fish

The 2010 NBA Champions Los Angeles Lakers have their eye on one target this offseason his name,Derek Fisher. The veteran and vocal leader of the Lakers is a free agent and is yet to come to an agreement with the Lakers. D-Fish will be a key component to the Lakers’ run to a three-peat.  It is a must for the NBA champs to keep their veteran point guard, for now contract negotiations are in the works but neither side has come to an agreement.

So as the NBA Free Agency period narrows down, it’s not over yet, teams are still trying fill up their rosters in search of that perfect chemistry of players.
