Too Many Options: How To Choose The Right Bag

A woman’s best friend is her handbag. We keep our whole lives in our bags. If I go through mine now, I can pull out 5 different brands of lip gloss, my wallet, sunglasses, makeup bag and a small bottle of perfume.

The contents of a women’s handbag varies from person to person, but are women wearing the right handbag and men, are you carrying a bag at all?

I bet when I asked, “Are you wearing the right bag?” most women have no idea what I am talking about. Most just buy a bag that they think looks nice or goes with a pair of shoes. While this is fine, some women don’t realize that a wrong bag choice can mess up their whole look.

Buying a handbag is like a sport. To use football as an example, certain size players play in certain positions. You rarely see really big tall guys playing quarterback, most of them are linebackers. So, to put this in fashion terms, certain size women should wear certain bags.

Short women should not wear oversized bags. They make short women look shorter and over powered by their handbag. Instead, wear medium sized bags or smaller bags like a clutch.

Plus Size women should not wear small bags. Smaller bags make plus sized women look bigger. These women should wear long and medium sized bags because they will make them look more proportionate

Tall and thinner women should not wear smaller bags either. Wearing a bigger bag and a more round bag will make a tall and thinner women look slimmer and not as tall.

Men should also consider their bag options. Most men think wearing a bag will make them look or seem more feminine, but in actuality the right bag will make a man look more masculine.

There are two types of bags a man should wear, a messenger bag or a duffle. These bags will make any man look more fashionable and professional. Any size man can wear these two bags but to wear these bags, they need to first understand the use of the each.

The messenger is more popular for men. This bag is normally medium sized and has a flap in the front. Most men use this bag to hold a laptop and they come with a long strap so it is easier to wear on the shoulder or across the chest.

The duffle bag has more room then the messenger. Most men wear the medium sized duffle rather than the large duffle since the former is more functional. The duffle also has a long strap but it is more fashionable to wear without the strap and hold it by the smaller handles.
