What To Wear This Fall

It’s  September and it is about to get cold very soon. If you haven’t started thinking about doing some fall shopping, then maybe you should add it to your list of things to do.

Normally there isn’t a big difference between fall trends from year to year, but this year, the fashion forecasters decided to change things up. So before you decide to go out and shop, I’ll give you a few trends for this fall/winter 2010 for both men and women.

Tweed Topcoat (Men)

Most men have it easy when it’s time to getting dressed, because they really don’t have much to do to look trendy. For that man that likes to stay fashionably warm during the cold months, there is the tweed topcoat. The tweed topcoat is versatile because you can wear it over a well tailored suit for work or a nice pair or jeans while going out with friends. This coat was seen on the runway by Louis Vuitton, but men can get it for $99 at H&M.

Faux Fur (Women)

The Fall and Winter seasons women will see a lot of faux fur from boots, handbags, vest, coats and even skirts. There was a big showing on the runway for boots trimmed in faux fur by Chanel or an ultra plush peacoat by Burberry. For those of us that are frugalistas and don’t want to spend a lot of money on a faux fur peacoat by Burrberry, we can always go to Zara and buy a Long Hair faux fur jacket with hood for $79.99. Pair your faux fur jacket with a chic waist belt and you have a fabulous fall top.

50’s Inspired (Women)

Fashion always repeats itself, so now we have gone back in time to the fifties. A lot of designers have channeled their designs from the fifties with curve hugging pencil skits, long puffy skirts that hit the calves and a lot of hour glass silhouette dresses. The fifties inspired pencil skirts on the runway were made by Nina Ricci but you can also get this skirt at Arden B for $59.

Cashmere Sweaters (Men and Women)

Cashmere is actually a classic that will never go out of style for both men and women in the winter. Cashmere is very light weight, but it keeps your very warm. The more expensive the cashmere is, the better quality the sweater or cardigan will be. Every man and woman should have at least one cashmere piece in their closet.  J. Crew has the best, inexpensive cardigans for both men and women. For women, the waffle cashmere cardigan is priced at $198 and for men, a cashmere v-neck sweater is $188.

Beautiful Hue’s (Women)

This Fall and winter we are going to express ourselves through beautiful hue’s. Instead of dark and neutral colors, we are going to wear brighter colors and do a lot of color blocking. On the runway, Tory Burch showed off orange skirts and Oscar de la Renta showed bright purples. So with this, you really don’t have to go shopping . You can keep out those bright colorful tops and pair it with your new faux fur coat.

So ladies and gentlemen, take these tips and go shopping for the fall and winter seasons and embrace the fashionable and trendy inner you.
